Having completed our eighth month of traveling, we are certainly filled with a bit more optimism than in the previous few days. Cautious optimism, obviously. We will just have to wait and see.

Monday Monday — The Mamas & the Papas
It’s been a bit of a tough day today. Unless things change with a miracle, we will be on our way back home sooner rather than later. It’s certainly been a ride so far, and I’m terribly proud still!
Seasons in the Sun — Terry Jacks
A lot of introspection and decision-making was required today. It’s always tough when things don’t go exactly to plan, but I suppose we should be used to that by now.
Strange Enough — Vérité
One-Shot Wednesday is upon us again. Check out this vid. It’s a real testament to the light-hearted, youthful nature of the style.
Love Letters — Metronomy
Heading over to a gay bar in the Eixample district, we are curious to see what a Monday night has to offer. Harsh lighting and strong drinks: I feel like I’m home. This song always reminds me of a dear friend’s alternate lyrics…
Tragedy — Bee Gees
Finding money to be a bit of an issue as of late, we have been eating in much more often. It’s a great thing to be traveling with a world-class chef. A truly tough life is what I lead.
You’re the Best Thing — The Style Council
After taking the train from Lucca to Pisa and from Pisa to Milan, we hop on an evening flight to Barcelona. Arriving late at night, the sights of the city are shrouded in secrecy. Oh, and it’s One-Shot Wednesday.
Try — Michael Penn
A short trip to one of our favourite small, Italian towns: Lucca. I love the seclusion you feel when you walk around the inner walls. One of our favourite restaurants in the world, Trattoria da Leo, is here as well, and as expected, it does not disappoint. Tortellini in brodo, how I’ve missed you.
The Dø — Leo Leo
Too good! Today we were invited over to our neighbours’ for Sunday lunch. The wife is a beautiful lady that has really taken a shine to Charlie. She wanted to show him a few Italian kitchen tricks. Linguini zucchini e gamberetti, pasta e fagioli, poached swordfish, and the local dessert, baba soaked in rum. A truly splendid meal.
The Babys — Everytime I Think of You
Fail. In all of my Joy Division-based excitement, I forgot that it was One Shot Wednesday! Therefore, it’s officially the first One Shot Thursday!
Wannabe — Spice Girls
